Description
Atherosclerosis, also known as Arteriosclerotic Vascular Disease, is a disease where the artery walls thicken as a result of the build-up of fatty materials, such as cholesterol, which narrows the channel, and therefor impairs blood flow. Atherosclerosis also causes a great deal of serious illness by reducing the flow of blood in other major arteries, such as to the kidneys, legs, and intestines. Atherosclerosis is responsible for more deaths in the U.S. than any other condition. Atherosclerotic heart disease, involving the coronary arteries , is the most common cause of death, causing one third of all deaths. Click for Youtube Video
